On 6 November 2019, the ESA Commissioner, and Chief Officer ACT Fire and Rescue, appeared before the Justice and Community Safety committee of the ACT Legislative Assembly, to answer questions on the operation of the ESA.

Members will find that the tone and substance of the questions and answers was the most positive that has been encountered in recent years. The topics covered included the UFU’s bargaining campaign, the difference in approach of the current leadership in comparison to the previous Commissioner, the need to recruit additional firefighters, and PFAS contamination.
Clearly we are making gains, but our dispute is not over yet. We must continue our efforts in seeking to secure an enterprise agreement.
