A change to the UFU ACT Branch Rules is proposed, to establish an additional BCOM position, open only to persons who are a rank below the rank of Station Officer.
The proposed change is intended to ensure that our committee represents all firefighters, particularly those who are beginning their career, and ensuring we reflect a voice for those newer firefighters.
It reflects a shift in the UFU’s number of representatives, noting that ACTF&R has increased its membership numbers significantly since 8 members of the BCOM were decided on.
The UFU ACT BCOM approved the proposed change at its meeting on the 31st of March 2025.
Legally, the change will take effect 28 days after BCOM’s decision unless members raise objections by 28 April 2025.
