The federal Parliament’s Senate’s Education and Employment References Committee has provided a report on its inquiry into the role of Commonwealth, state and territory Governments in addressing the high rates of mental health conditions experienced by first responders, emergency service workers and volunteers.
The Commonwealth Government has now provided a response to the report.
To communicate these developments to firefighters across the nation, the UFUA has released national Bulletin No. 30 of 26 February 2020 noting that the government’s response includes “support in-principle for presumptive legislation covering PTSD and related issues.”
